Florence Katono is a Principal Administrative Assistant with Bank of Uganda. She has diligently served the Bank for the last 8 years. She holds a Masters of Business Administration (Human Resource Management) and a Bachelors of Secretarial Studies, (Suma cum laude), Makerere University Kampala. She has specialised training; Project Management (PRINCE2 Certification), events management and business writing.
Florence has served the Bank of Uganda Administrative Assistants’ Association (BUAA) in different capacities; Strategy Champion, Vice President, Publicity Secretary and Committee member.
Florence is grateful to the Pitman Training Group for the opportunity to hold fort as Pitman Super Achiever Personal Assistant of the Year 2015. She acknowledges that the Award was not only internally gratifying but also a spring board to tell the world the beautiful story of administrative professionals. During her tenure, she played a key role in uplifting the administrative profession.
She has enormously enjoyed the benefits of local and international Administrative professional associations notably; The Executive Assistant Uganda, National Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals (NASAP), Professional Association for Secretaries and Administrative Assistants (PAFSA), International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and Executive Secretary. She is widely networked.
She is the founder of The Executive Assistant Uganda, a PA network whose objective is to hoist the profile of Executive and Administrative Assistants to a befitting level, promoting excellence and professionalism.
As a poetic writer, speaker and story teller, Florence is described as a word painter. She paints the world with humorous, inspirational and fun stories. Through the art of storytelling, Florence has inspired local and international audiences.
She is a proud mother of two beautiful girls; Gabriella and Kolaiah.
When she is not working, you can be sure to catch her on the dance floor.
